My Contribution
For DevFest, I designed key visual assets and web components that captured the energy of the world’s largest community-driven tech conference. My focus was on creating a cohesive, scalable design system that aligned with Google Developer Groups’ global branding, while keeping the experience inclusive and accessible for local communities worldwide.
The Problem
The challenge was to boost student engagement and bridge connections between developers and their regional Google Developer Groups.
The Solution
We built a streamlined, scalable site experience to reach students and amplify DevFest’s impact. The design highlighted Google I/O’s tech stack, promoted local GDGs, and inspired future developer events, while reducing page length for faster navigation and accessibility.
Scaling Down
Previous year, DevFest page was too long and overwhelming, making it harder for users to quickly find event details.
To improve usability, we:
Information prioritization
Condensed page length Combined and phased content
Data‑driven insights
(sign‑ups, advocate feedback, kickoff tracking)Optimized navigation
Quick access to relevant topics

Promoting Local GDGs and Inspiring Future Events
We integrated GDG discovery into DevFest to help developers connect with local communities. Featuring regional events, success stories, and resources encouraged ongoing engagement and inspired future developer meetups worldwide.

Highlighting Google Tech Stack
We introduced a product stack framework during Google I/O to improve content discoverability and help developers quickly find relevant tools. The four core stacks Mobile, Web, AI, and Cloud created a clear, intuitive structure, making it easier for developers, GDGs, and student clubs to navigate resources and adopt Google technologies efficiently.
Final Design
Building on research and stakeholder feedback, we designed the final experience using Google DevSite components for consistency. We intentionally kept familiar features like earning badges and a countdown to DevFest kickoff, ensuring users felt connected to previous event experiences. The design was approved, implemented, and launched live for global access.
